Isostatic Pressing Technology

时间:2025-01-13

Principle of isostatic pressing

Isostatic molding technology is to place the sample powder under pressure in a high pressure container, and use the incompressible nature of liquid or gas medium and the property of uniform pressure transfer to pressurize the sample from all directions. When the liquid medium is injected into the pressure container through a pressure pump, the pressure is constant and evenly transferred to all directions according to the principle of fluid mechanics. At this time, the pressure of the powder in the high-pressure vessel is uniform and the size is consistent in all directions. The method of forming the poor powder into a compact body by the above method is called isostatic pressing.

Advantages and disadvantages of isostatic pressure technology

Advantages:

High density of isostatic pressing products.

The density of the compact is uniform.

Because of the uniform density, the production of length-diameter ratio is not limited, which is conducive to the production of rod, tubular thin and long products.

Isostatic pressing process, generally do not need to add lubricants in the powder, which not only reduces the pollution of the product, but also simplifies the manufacturing process.

Isostatic pressing products have excellent performance, short production cycle and wide application range.

Weaknesses:

The disadvantage of isostatic molding process is that the process efficiency is low and the equipment is expensive.

Apply

Cold isostatic pressing technology is widely used in ceramic industry, powder metallurgy, carbon graphite products, food processing industry.

Hot isostatic pressing technology can be applied to improve the organizational structure of metal materials, the production of near-net metal parts, the hot pressing sintering of special ceramics, the densification of ceramics and cemented carbide, and the elimination or repair of product defects.
